From Vision to Impact: SAG Achieved ISO 50001 Certification for Smarter Energy Management
What is ISO 50001?
That’s where ISO 50001 certification comes in. Developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ISO 50001:2018 is the most recent version of the Energy Management System (EnMS) standard. It provides a structured, measurable approach to improving energy performance across operations—and is globally recognized for helping organizations reduce consumption, costs, and emissions.

SAG’s Journey to Certification
To further drive energy efficiency, SAG has installed solar arrays to power part of our operations with renewable sources and deployed smart meters to enable real-time energy monitoring—allowing for better control, insight, and optimization across key processes.
As shared by Marketing Director Jasmine Shih in a press release:
“A portion of production is covered by the use of renewable resources and their environmental impact is effectively measured, controlled and minimized. In addition, SAG proactively supports sustainable practices across the supply chain.”
These efforts reflect our long-term commitment to smarter energy use and continuous improvement.

Looking Ahead – Sustaining Our Energy Commitments
Today, sustainability certifications signal more than compliance—they represent leadership in environmental responsibility and operational excellence. Certifications like ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 not only showcase a company's dedication to sustainable practices but also deliver real business value:
- Enhanced Market Differentiation: Certifications help distinguish SAG in competitive markets. A study by Visable revealed that 84% of buyers consider sustainability important or very important when evaluating suppliers. Notably, 51% prefer to work with sustainable partners. These certifications help enhance trust, credibility, and competitiveness in the marketplace.
- Operational Efficiency and Cost Savings: Implementing structured energy management systems leads to better resource utilization, reducing operational costs and enhancing overall efficiency.
Building upon our existing ISO 14001 environmental certification, SAG is actively preparing for ISO 14067 (Carbon Footprint of Products) and ISO 14064-1 (Organizational Greenhouse Gas Emissions) certifications.
Our future initiatives include:
- Integrating advanced energy-efficient technologies
- Enhancing employee engagement through continuous training
- Strengthening data analytics for energy performance monitoring
At SAG, sustainability is not a destination—it’s a continuous journey of innovation, responsibility, and impact. As we move forward, we remain committed in our mission to shape a smarter, greener, and more resilient world. Together, we turn commitment into action—because building a better tomorrow starts with what we do together today.
